A quiz is the fastest way to wake up a room. It works in a history lesson, at a company training and at a wedding with questions about the couple. The biggest obstacle is usually the tech: by the time everyone has downloaded an app and typed a six-digit code, half of them have lost interest.
How it works
- Prepare your questions in your account. Each has four options and one correct answer.
- Start the quiz on the big screen. A large QR code appears, with the names of people joining underneath.
- Players scan the code, enter a nickname and wait. Nothing to install.
- You release questions one at a time. Results stay hidden until you reveal them, so nobody copies their neighbour.
- After each question you see how people voted and a mini leaderboard. At the end there's a podium for the top three.
Points for speed: try it
A correct answer is worth 1000 points if it's instant and 500 if it comes in at the last second. A wrong answer scores zero. So it pays to think fast, but not to guess blindly. Here's one question, scored exactly like the real thing:
How many modules wide is the smallest QR code?
Live or self-paced
A live quiz is led by you: you move through the questions and everyone answers at once. Great for classrooms, trainings or parties where people share a room.
A self-paced quiz lets everyone play at their own speed and see the ranking at the end. Ideal as homework, a social media challenge or a trade-fair stand where people drop by one at a time.
Tips for questions people enjoy
- 8 to 12 questions is the sweet spot. At twenty, people start checking the time.
- 20 seconds per question is enough. Harder ones can have more, up to a minute.
- Open with an easy question so everyone gets going. Put the hardest one second to last.
- Make the wrong answers believable. If the answer is obvious at first glance, nobody has fun.
- Include at least one funny question. At a work quiz, one about the boss does the trick.
Not just quizzes: quick polls
A poll without right answers works the same way: where to go for the team day, how the talk went, which date suits everyone. Results update live, so you can show them on the screen straight away.
Questions people ask
Do players need to sign up?⌄
No. They scan the code and enter a nickname. Only the person creating and hosting the quiz needs an account.
How many people can play at once?⌄
The quiz is built for a full classroom or a larger hall. If you're planning an event for hundreds of people, write to us and we'll help you prepare.
Does it work without a projector?⌄
Yes. Show the code on a laptop or print it and read the questions aloud. Players answer on their phones.
Is it free?⌄
Polls and quizzes are part of the Pro plan, which comes with a 14-day free trial. That's often plenty for a single quiz.
